Piping Engineer Industrial Mechanical

What youll do

As aPiping Engineer in our Industrial Mechanical team basedin Brisbaneyoullcontributetoprojects and programs thatmake a real difference and be part ofateamthat embraces challenges welcomes diverse ideas and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce concept and detailed engineering designs aligned with client needs
  • Produce engineering design deliverables such as: Calculations Datasheets Specifications Reports Bid evaluations Estimates
  • Provide design support across: Piping and pumped systems Pipelines Hydraulic analysis Mechanical engineering design and analysis
  • Work with a team of engineers across a range of small to large multidisciplinary projects to deliver fully coordinated outcomes managing your own budget and schedule expectations
  • Apply problemsolving skills to develop innovative solutions
  • Apply Safe Design principles in all daily activities

What youll bring

  • A positive and optimistic attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Experience with detailed mechanical and piping design in one or more of the following areas; Piping and pumped systems Piping design / stress analysis Pipelines Hydraulic analysis.
  • Awareness of the process industry including relevant standards (eg AS API ASME) and practices relating to process piping pipelines pressure vessels heat exchangers tanks and rotating machinery
  • Awareness and knowledge of pipe stress analysis principles and interface with process mechanical and structural engineering.
  • Working knowledge of engineering software such as: Bentley AutoPIPE Caesar II Nozzle PRO WaterGEMS / Bentley HAMMER FluidFlow AFT FATHOM ANSYS
  • A working understanding of pipe class specifications and their underpinning piping design code calculations
  • Understanding of applying project principles and methodologies to manage projects and achieve program outcomes;
  • Strong written communication skills to articulate technical decisions with due justification
  • Preference for experience in the oil and gas industry
