About the role

Were looking for a skilled Pipeline Operator Technician to join our Queensland Gas Pipeline (QGP) operations team.

In this hands-on role youll help operate and maintain critical gas transmission infrastructure including pipelines compressor stations facilities instrumentation and electrical systems.

Working a 14 days on / 14 days off roster youll enjoy genuine work-life balance while building your expertise across a diverse asset base. We welcome FIFO DIDO and local candidates with accommodation provided during rostered periods.

No two days are the same. You could be troubleshooting instrumentation faults maintaining Solar turbines and gas-powered equipment conducting inspections supporting commissioning activities responding to operational issues or working alongside contractors and engineering teams to improve asset performance.

Youll join a small experienced team responsible for maintaining the Queensland Gas Pipeline and associated facilities. With significant investment planned across the network youll have the opportunity to contribute to major asset renewal reliability and improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance across pipeline facilities and compressor stations
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and mechanical equipment
  • Maintain and operate compressors turbines valves meters and associated assets
  • Conduct pipeline patrols inspections and asset surveillance activities
  • Respond to breakdowns incidents and emergency situations
  • Support commissioning construction and asset improvement projects
  • Liaise with contractors landholders regulators and key stakeholders
  • Participate in the on-call roster supporting a 24/7 operation

Roster: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off FIFO/DIDO role providing operational coverage across the Queensland Gas Pipeline. Accommodation is provided at our Rolleston and Moura bases during rostered periods. To support operational requirements all employees including local candidates stay at the accommodation bases for the duration of their roster.

About You

Youre an Electrical & Instrumentation professional who enjoys working in the field solving technical problems and taking ownership of your work. Youll bring:

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (essential)
  • Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation & Control (essential)
  • Current QLD (or equivalent Australian) Electrical Licence (essential)
  • Current Drivers Licence and White Card (essential)
  • Experience in maintenance or operations within gas energy utilities processing plants manufacturing resources or similar industrial environments
  • Experience with compressors rotating equipment gas processing facilities or industrial plant assets
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across electrical and instrumentation systems
