Working closely with the Counterpart team Womens Health Victoria (WHV) is seeking a highly skilled Peer Support Lead to lead the Peer Support team and volunteers to deliver a high-quality andinnovative peer support service for women and gender diverse people living with cancer across Victoria.

WHV is a statewide feminist not-for-profit leading the pursuit of gender equity in health. We work with government the health sector and the community to create better health outcomes for women (cis and trans inclusive) and gender diverse people.

WHV delivers vital support services to the community and empowering health information. We share evidence and recommendations to challenge bias in the health system. Counterpart provides a confidential service that complements the medical system and other cancer support services through peer support evidence-based information and free community events across rural and regional Victoria.

About the role

The Peer Support Lead is responsible for supervising and supporting the peer support team and volunteers overseeing service delivery requirements across the Melbourne hub regional peer support hubs and the Bridge of Support program.

Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders this role supports delivery of ahigh-quality and innovative peer support service for women and gender diverse people living with cancer across Victoria.

This role also builds the capacity for Counterpart to respond to demand for peer support services particularly to support equity and access for priority populations.

A strong candidate will bring excellent service design and stakeholder engagement skills with a track record of creating innovative and impactful programs.

Amongst other selection criteria as an ideal candidate youll have:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as health community services social work (preferred) or equivalent work experience
• Minimum six years experience working in service development implementation and evaluation with a focus on diverse communities in the health and community sector
• Demonstrated ability to plan evaluate and deliver inclusive accessible consumer-centeredservices tailored to the needs of diverse women and gender diverse people
• Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills particularly within the health or social policy sectors
• Demonstrated experience in leading supporting and developing teams including providing supervision fostering a positive team culture and ensuring effective delivery of program objectives
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing service needs.
