An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a large well-established organisation on a fixed-term contract through to March 2027 with the potential for extension.
This is a key leadership role where youll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for more than 600 employees while leading and developing a high-performing team of three payroll professionals. Youll play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy compliance and operational excellence while also contributing to a significant payroll transformation initiative.
What Youll Be Doing
Lead the end-to-end payroll function across two fortnightly payroll cycles
Manage mentor and support a team of three payroll professionals
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll including allowances leave back pay and payroll variations
Oversee statutory compliance including payroll tax superannuation ATO and ABS reporting requirements
Manage year-end payroll processes reconciliations and compliance reporting
Act as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex payroll queries
Maintain payroll data integrity and support audit and reporting requirements
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy
Partner closely with HR Finance and key stakeholders to provide payroll insights and workforce reporting
About You
To be successful in this role youll bring:
Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll within a large or complex organisation
Demonstrated leadership experience with a passion for developing and supporting teams
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation taxation superannuation awards and enterprise agreements
Experience working in high-volume and complex payroll environments
Advanced Excel skills including formulas VLOOKUPs and data analysis
Experience using payroll systems such as Preceda or Dayforce (highly regarded)
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
