For others connection and meaning might be found through family music culture nature a much-loved hobbymemoriesand life stories or simply having someone beside them duringa difficult a Pastoral Practitioner you will take the time to understandwhat matters to the individualand provide care that respects who they are what they believe and how they choose to find meaning comforthopeand doingWorking as part of Unitings Mission team and alongside our care and support teams you will provide a trusted pastoral presence for residents families carersstaffand will:Build genuine trusting relationships through attentive presence activelisteningand compassionate pastoral spiritual and emotional support during times of illness grief loss loneliness transitionuncertaintyand the time to understand each persons life story culture beliefs relationshipsvaluesand the things that are meaningful to inclusive spiritual care for people ofall faiths spiritualities and worldviews including those with no religious people to connect with faith communities traditionsritualsor other sources of meaning where this is important to collaboratively with familiescarersand multidisciplinary teams to contribute a pastoral and spiritual perspective to holistic person-centred families and those close to residents through times of change deteriorationgriefand a compassionate pastoral presence for staff and volunteers when they may also need someone to to memorial services pastoralgatheringsand other meaningful occasions is not about having all the answers.
