About the Role

Be part of a team that plays a vital role in keeping Georges River this handson customer-facing role you will deliver fair consistent and professional parking enforcement in line with NSW legislation and Council procedures. Youll help promote safe and lawful parking practices while supporting the efficient turnover of parking spaces improving access and amenity for residents businesses and visitors across the community.

Day to day youll be out in the field conducting proactive foot and vehicle patrols including targeted programs such as school zones and heavy vehicle compliance. Working closely with Senior Parking Officers youll respond to service requests engage positively with the community and maintain accurate enforcement outcomes. With a strong focus on safety teamwork and professionalism youll also participate in ongoing training manage risks in dynamic environments and contribute to compliance outcomes including preparing evidence for court when required.

Your Day-to-Day as a Parking Officer

  • Patrol assigned areas to proactively and in response to requests address community concerns through regulatory action
  • Monitor high-risk areas such as school zones and business areas to encourage compliance
  • Work closely with Senior Parking Officers and other Team members to provide consistent community focussed services across all shifts
  • Put safety first by identifying and managing risks while working in dynamic outdoor environments
  • Be a visible and approachable Council representative educating the community and providing helpful advice
  • Demonstrate strong observational skills to deliver efficient patrols prompt responses and appropriate enforcement
  • Keep your knowledge up to date through ongoing training and development opportunities

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in customerfacing or serviceoriented roles with the ability to engage professionally and respectfully with diverse community members
  • Proficient digital literacy including competency with Windows-based applications mobile technology and relevant fieldservice software
  • Strong problemsolving capability supported by keen observational skills sound judgement and the ability to make effective decisions in dynamic situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare accurate documentation and record clear concise information
  • Awareness of operational risks and ability to work safely in dynamic public-facing environments
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fastpaced fieldbased environment with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team follow reasonable instructions and contribute to a positive and productive work environment
  • Current Class C Driver License
  • Physical capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role including extended periods of outdoor work on foot in varying weather conditions

This role operates within a structured six-day rotating roster (Monday to Saturday) in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award requiring availability across core operational hours including rostered shifts between 6:00am and 8:00pm on weekdays and 6:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays.
The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility and reliability in working across early mornings evenings and weekends and be available to undertake overtime as required to meet operational and community needs.
