About the role

As a Palliative Care Nurse (EN or RN) you will provide high-quality clinical care and emotional support to patients with life-limiting illnesses. You will play an essential role in symptoms management end-of-life care patient advocacy and supporting families and carers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering compassionate and evidence-based nursing care
  • Assessing pain and complex symptoms effectively
  • Supporting patients and families emotionally and psychologically
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Participating in discharge planning and care coordination
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documents
  • Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Essential Criteria:

  • Authority to work in Australia

  • Current AHPRA Registration(no restrictions)

  • Experience in palliative oncology and aged care

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • To work well both independently and within a team

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification or studies in palliative care
  • Experience with syringe drivers and symptoms management
  • Knowledge of advanced care planning and end-of-life care pathways

If you are successful you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the NSWNMA / AMNF - Nurses and Midwives Agreement - starting from $40.24 - $56.54 per hour.
