About your new team

The Centre for Population Genomics (CPG) is a joint initiative of the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research bringing together leading experts in genomics data science and clinical research. As a remote-first nationally distributed team CPG is driving a more equitable future for genomic medicine through innovative research that improves health outcomes for communities across Australia and beyond.

What youll do

  • Coordinate the end-to-end sample-to-data pipeline ensuring high-quality genomic datasets are delivered on time.
  • Partner with internal teams and external sequencing providers to deliver seamless data generation.
  • Monitor sequencing outputs troubleshoot quality issues and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate metadata LIMS records and documentation to safeguard data integrity and traceability.
  • Collaborate with genomics software engineering and project teams to support critical research milestones.

What youll bring

  • Masters degree (or higher) in Genomics Bioinformatics Biomedical Science Data Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years experience coordinating genomics scientific or data-driven projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing biological samples through to genomic datasets including large-scale data integration workflows.
  • Strong technical capability with LIMS metadata management and project management tools (e.g. Jira Trello or Slack) with the ability to collaborate effectively across laboratory software engineering and scientific teams.
  • Excellent organisational communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive high-quality outcomes independently.
