Job Summary

The Operations Training & Design Lead will lead the operations training function within Store Enablement & Excellence reporting to the Head of Store Enablement & Excellence. You will lead a small central team and own the strategy framework and design standards that build capability across our national retail network.

This role will shape how operational training is designed and enabled across our stores working closely with an external content development partner to ensure learning is practical engaging and aligned to business priorities. You will play a key role in supporting a store manager-led training model and building a more capable and empowered field.

You will:

  • Develop and own the operations training strategy and framework across the retail network.
  • Establish role-based learning pathways capability requirements and training standards aligned to operational priorities.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design expertise to ensure training is simple practical and engaging.
  • Guide and manage an external content development partner ensuring quality consistency and delivery to brief.
  • Lead and develop the Operations Training team setting clear priorities accountabilities and performance expectations.
  • Partner with Operations Compliance & Standards and field leaders to identify capability gaps and align training to store needs.
  • Support a store manager-led training model that builds field capability and reduces reliance on Support Office for training delivery.

Qualifications :

  • Significant experience in learning and development capability instructional design or operational training.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training strategies and frameworks within a multi-site environment.
  • Experience across e-learning face-to-face and blended learning.
  • Experience managing external training or content development providers.
  • Strong ability to translate operational requirements into simple practical and engaging learning.
  • Proven experience leading a team and delivering outcomes through others.
  • Experience in fuel convenience QSR or high-volume retail will be highly regarded.
