We act for the roleThis RediCommunities Resilience Officer will work to build Red Crosss capacity and capability to deliver community led resilience programming with Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities. This role supports communities to strengthen their capacity to prepare for respond to and recover from emergencies through the Australian Red Cross RediCommunities program. The role focuses on building local connections facilitating workshops and discussions to support community resilience initiatives that reflect local strengths risks and priorities. Working collaboratively with councils community organisations and emergency services the officer guides communities through each phase of the RediCommunities process from engagement and assessment to action planning and evaluation ensuring inclusive participation and sustainable long-term resilience outcomes that align with Red Cross humanitarian principles and emergency management you will bringDemonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise and/or lived experience in disaster resilience recovery and community engagement High level of knowledge and practical skills in working with communities to build resilience facilitate engagement and support locally led outcomesAbility to work under general direction from senior employees within clear objectives and budget constraints and work with and support teams and people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environmentAs an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person demonstrate a level of knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures community and country Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities including the requirement for genuine and transparent consultation and negotiationAbility to deliver training workshops and and evaluation skills with the ability to assist in using data to inform that act for you while you act for humanityWork flexibility: Australian Red Cross operates under ahybrid working modelwhich includes two days on-site and three days from homeFinancial wellbeing:In addition to your salary you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
