The Junction Works is a not-for-profit organisation that has been serving the communities of South West Sydney since 1987. Our mission is to create new possibilities in peoples lives through innovative and enriching community youth childrens and disability services. We are committed to improving the lives of some of our communitys most vulnerable individuals through person-centered planning and support.
With our main office located in Austral we operate multiple program sites across the local government areas of Bankstown Camden Campbelltown Fairfield Liverpool and Wollondilly. As the South West Corridor experiences significant growth we are prepared to meet the increasing demand for high-quality programs and services for families with children with disabilities.
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing specialised support services to young people and adults with disabilities as well as their families and carers. This role involves assessing individual strengths and needs designing tailored support programs based on their NDIS goals and collaborating with other clinical disciplines to deliver effective therapeutic interventions.
- Manage a diverse caseload of individuals with disabilities conducting assessments intervention planning program development and equipment prescription.
- Assess participant needs and develop implement monitor and review NDIS plans to ensure they align with the assessed needs.
- Ensure service delivery models adhere to evidence-based practices and meet organisational benchmarks.
- Act as a specialist resource for management regarding Occupational Therapy services maintaining up-to-date knowledge and networks.
- Demonstrate proficient assessment and measurement skills utilising appropriate tools for participant evaluation.
- Contribute to the planning development and evaluation of the allied health service in collaboration with the Practice Leader.
- Apply the NDIS Code of Conduct in all work practices.
- Commit to ongoing professional development completing required training and opportunities annually.
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapist who is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent area of study.
- General registration with AHPRA.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities particularly those with complex needs.
- Strong collaborative skills and experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Current understanding of relevant legislation and policies affecting disability services.
- Ability to provide sound advice on complex and sensitive issues.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid NSW Drivers License.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
