About us:
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including General Surgery Orthopaedics Gynaecology Ophthalmology Plastic and Reconstructive Urology Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter February 2021 a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit The Darwin Clinic opened a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program.
Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory Western Australia remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong leadership and operational direction to the ward/unit in alignment with the hospitals strategic and business objectives
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Day Surgery Unit & Recovery ensuring efficient effective and safe operations
Coordinate the delivery of high-quality evidence-based nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Lead support and develop the nursing team providing guidance mentoring and clinical supervision to less experienced staff
Effectively manage human financial and material resources to ensure efficient service delivery and budget performance
Foster a culture of continuous improvement quality safety and clinical excellence
Ensure exceptional patient and customer service standards are consistently achieved and maintained
Maintain compliance with relevant legislation accreditation standards hospital policies and professional practice requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective communication and coordinated patient care
Undertake direct patient care when required to support the needs of the the Day Surgery Unit & Recovery
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- NT Working with Children check
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
- Experience in the Acute setting
- Degree in relevant specialty area
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customerfocused care
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
Desirable Criteria:
- A management degree or working towards

If you are successful in the role you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NT Nurse and Midwives -Enterprise Agreement2022 a salary of $126997 Per Annum.
