Merchandise Assistant

Our Petbarn category team are currently seeking a motivated Merchandise Assistant or Buyers Assistant to join our Fresh & Frozen Food and Dog & Cat Health Categories. Reporting to the Category Manager this role will suit a driven and motivated buyers assistant looking to be part of a growing brand.

About the role

This is a highly administrative and analytical role ideal for someone who is organised detail-focused and eager to grow within specialty retail buying. Youll work closely with the Category Manager and internal stakeholders to support product range reporting and supplier activity.

What youll do

• Maintain product and range files ensuring data accuracy and timely updates
• Support the preparation of brand presentations sales reports and category performance analysis
• Assist with range review analysis and supplier promotional plans
• Provide administrative support to the Category team as required
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Stores Supply Chain Marketing and Space Planning

What youll bring

• At least two years experience in product administration support Merchandise Assistant or Buyers Assistant role
• Experience in a fast-paced retail support office environment highly regarded
• A genuine passion for specialty retail products and pets
• Strong attention to detail organisation and analytical capability
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• Experience preparing reports analysing data and creating graphs
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with suppliers stores and support office teams
• The ability to multitask manage priorities and work with multiple stakeholders
• A positive collaborative attitude and a desire to progress into a future buying role
