Job Summary
We are searching for an Emergency Management Professional who can bring a collaborative approach and solutions-focused mindset as we continue to grow our internal emergency response capabilities and build upon our established external networks and relationships.
Working within a unique and highly specialised chemical processing environment this role is pivotal to achieving excellence across Emergency Response Pre-hospital Care and Security portfolios at our Lynas Kalgoorlie operation.
Currently rostered as a 7/7 12-hour shift Kalgoorlie residential roster with a view to moving to an 8/6 roster in future to suit business requirements the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Provision of pre-hospital and emergency care for all injuries and illnesses that occur on site.
- Maintaining pre-hospital facilities equipment systems and processes in a state of operational readiness in accordance with organisational and Poison Permit obligations.
- Functioning as On-scene Commander at all emergencies that occur on site.
- Recruit train coach and develop emergency response team members on site.
- Maintaining emergency response and incident management equipment systems and processes in a state of operational readiness in accordance with the sites Emergency Management Plan.
- Facilitate monitor and report on The Operations site access and security infrastructure systems and processes.
- Facilitate monitor and report on The Operations fitness for work management processes including Fatigue Management and Alcohol & Other Drugs.
To be successful you will have the following:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) (HLT41120)
- Minimum Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (RII30719)
- Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing (HLPAT005)
- Cert II Security Operations (CPP20218) or above (desirable/attainable)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Minimum Western Australian unencumbered C Class Drivers License or above
- Maintain facial hair/jewelry to be able to pass a respirator fit test as per AS 1715:2009 clean shaven site.
- Full Australian working rights
- Must reside locally within the Goldfields region for our residential operation
Skills and experience:
Demonstrable experience in the following:
- Emergency pre-hospital care in the resources or construction sectors or the on-road environment.
- Emergency response and leadership in the resources sector or the Public Safety context.
- Facilitating security and access control programs in the resources sector or the Public Safety context.
- Experience in negotiating and influencing behaviors across a broad range of stakeholders in a manner that achieves required HSE and compliance outcomes.
- Operational work in the resources or construction sectors or other heavy industry (desirable)
Skills:
- Ability to communicate face to face and electronically at the right level across multiple stakeholder groups including Worker Supervisor Manager Visitor ER team member Patient External Stakeholder.
- Computer literacy across the Microsoft suite.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while working autonomously and in a team environment.
- Maintain composure under pressure and during stressful situations.
