About the opportunity
Shape WorkSafe Victorias strategic relationships across the Victorian health system and help drive better outcomes for injured workers.
Reporting to the Director Health & Recovery this newly established leadership role is responsible for advancing WorkSafes strategic engagement across healthcare providers hospitals government agencies regulators peak bodies and other key stakeholders. As the primary stakeholder engagement lead for the Health & Recovery Division you will influence collaboration across the broader health and disability sectors and help shape initiatives that improve outcomes for injured workers and the Victorian community.
This role operates at the intersection of strategy engagement and influence. You will lead stakeholder engagement planning oversee executive-level correspondence and communications manage complex stakeholder issues and provide trusted advice to senior leaders. Working across a highly complex and evolving environment you will ensure WorkSafe maintains strong external partnerships a coordinated approach to engagement and a credible and consistent presence across the health sector.
This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead a strategically important function providing executive leadership and driving meaningful engagement that supports WorkSafes long-term objectives.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead WorkSafes stakeholder engagement strategy across the Health & Recovery Division strengthening relationships with healthcare providers hospitals peak bodies government agencies and other key stakeholders.
- Act as the principal liaison between the division and external stakeholders fostering collaboration alignment and shared outcomes.
- Provide strategic advice and insights to senior leaders on stakeholder priorities emerging trends risks and opportunities.
- Lead stakeholder engagement planning governance and communication approaches to ensure a coordinated and consistent external presence.
- Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of executive correspondence ministerial responses complaints and complex stakeholder communications.
- Lead the management of complex stakeholder issues and escalations ensuring effective outcomes and the maintenance of trusted relationships.
- Support the successful delivery of organisational change initiatives through targeted engagement and change readiness activities.
- Develop and lead the engagement team building capability and fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.

About you
You are a strategic and influential leader with a proven ability to build trusted relationships and deliver outcomes across complex stakeholder environments. You bring exceptional communication and relationship management skills sound judgement and the ability to navigate competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on organisational outcomes.
You are comfortable engaging with senior executives government representatives regulators and industry leaders and have a demonstrated ability to influence decisions resolve complex issues and drive meaningful collaboration.
Additionally you will possess:
- Significant experience leading stakeholder engagement partnerships or external relations functions within a complex health government regulatory or service delivery environment.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships with executive stakeholders and industry leaders.
- Exceptional communication negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of audiences.
- Experience providing strategic advice and translating stakeholder insights into actionable recommendations.
- Proven capability managing complex issues reputational risks and stakeholder escalations.
- Experience overseeing high-quality executive correspondence briefings and communications.
- Strong leadership experience including developing teams and driving high performance.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience in health public policy communications business or a related discipline.
