About the role

We are looking for a Contracts & Procurement Manager to help support the Kangwinan Project a major mining infrastructure development initiative located in Weipa this role youll provide procurement contracting and commercial leadership across key project delivery activities while working closely with project leadership EPCM partner operations engineering construction and support functions.

To be based in Brisbane this is a great opportunity for an experienced commercial leader who enjoys complex project environments strategic supplier engagement and influencing senior stakeholders and wants to play a key role in enabling safe sustainable and commercially optimised outcomes across a major project portfolio.

What youll be doing

Reporting to the Project Director and working in a collaborative fast-paced and commercially complex project environment within the Kangwinan Project team you will be:

  • Leading contracts procurement and commercial activities across major project packages ensuring alignment with project objectives governance requirements and delivery timelines

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies sourcing plans and commercial frameworks that support safe sustainable and efficient project execution.

  • Providing oversight and assurance of EPCM and direct hire procurement activities including contract formation governance controls and supplier engagement

  • Managing complex procurement packages through market engagement tendering evaluation negotiation contract award administration and close-out including partnering with domestic and international suppliers including China-based suppliers to support sourcing logistics expediting freight customs and supply chain outcomes

  • Advising senior project operational and corporate stakeholders on commercial risks procurement decisions contract strategies and governance approvals driving value creation through supplier engagement negotiation commercial optimisation risk management and continuous improvement

  • Leading mentoring and influencing procurement and contract management professionals across the project and broader commercial community

Required for Success

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Extensive experience in contracts procurement commercial management or supply chain leadership within mining resources infrastructure construction energy oil and gas or heavy industrial environments

  • Demonstrated experience developing procurement strategies managing complex procurement packages and negotiating high-value contracts in a major project environment

  • Strong stakeholder engagement commercial acumen and influencing skills with the ability to confidently advise and engage senior project operational and corporate leadership

Helpful for Success

  • Experience working within an Owners Team environment and/or alongside EPCM and project contractors

  • Exposure to international sourcing global supply chains and supplier engagement across China or other overseas markets

  • Experience supporting logistics freight traffic materials coordination or supply chain activities for remote regional or large-scale project delivery environments
