About The Role

Were looking for an experienced curious professional to join the Capital Strategy & Funding team on a 12-month fixed-term contract as Manager Capital Strategy & Funding. Reporting to the EM Capital Funding & Strategy youll take hands-on ownership of capital transactions and support capital monitoring reporting and forecasting cycles. Youll be part of a team that translates complex capital matters into clear decision-ready recommendations for senior leaders executives and the Board.

You dont need prior capital markets experience to thrive here what matters most is a strong foundation in research advice financial statement analysis consolidations and regulatory/statutory reporting paired with genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn. This is a fast-changing high-visibility environment and youll be supported by a coaching-style leader who is passionate about building capability and fostering a culture of curiosity and development.

What Youll Do

  • Own end-to-end capital initiatives including opportunities to maximise capital efficiency across dividends on-market buybacks and AT1/Tier 2 capital issuance and redemption

  • Support the capital monitoring reporting and forecast process including review analysis recommendations and stakeholder management

  • Prepare and review high-quality senior executive and Board papers backed by clear analysis strategic options and decision-ready insights

  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across due diligence processes APRA engagement and transaction teams

  • Challenge and redesign existing processes to improve quality efficiency control outcomes and commercial value

  • Coach and support the wider Capital Strategy & Funding team to lift capability and build cross-functional depth

  • Get involved in special projects and broader Capital Management priorities

What Youll Bring

  • Capital experience isnt essential were more interested in your core skills and your appetite to learn. Youll bring:

  • Recognised Accounting Finance or Actuarial degree plus a related post-graduate qualification (CA/CPA/CFA/AIAA or equivalent)

  • Strong experience (7 years) in a reporting or advisory role with a solid grounding in financial statement analysis consolidations and regulatory/statutory reporting or sound actuarial capital reporting experience

  • Working knowledge of disclosure obligations ASX listing rules and the Corporations Act and confidence applying them in practice

  • A track record of process improvement simplifying processes strengthening controls and delivering timely analysis and recommendations

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or delivery teams with a genuine hands-on coaching leadership style

  • Curiosity and confidence to test assumptions and established processes paired with a strong governance and risk mindset

  • A love of a changing workflow youre energised (not overwhelmed) by shifting priorities and competing deadlines

  • A collaborative team-first mindset with a passion for fostering curiosity and development in others

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to guide senior stakeholders through critical decisions

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Business Intelligence tools is an advantage
