Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance/Handyperson to join our Engineering team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer this hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the hotels plant equipment and facilities to ensure a safe functional and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the hotels facilities plant and equipment
• Conducting routine plant and equipment checks identifying faults and carrying out repairs where required
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks in line with schedules and operational requirements
• Responding to maintenance requests across guest rooms and public areas in a timely manner
• Liaising with contractors and internal departments to ensure all work is completed efficiently
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work repairs and inspections
• Ensuring all tools and equipment are used and stored safely and correctly
• Supporting the team to minimise downtime and return out-of-order areas back into service quickly
• Upholding workplace health safety and environmental standards at all times

This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys problem-solving working independently and contributing to a high-performing hotel operation.

Qualifications :

Were looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance facilities maintenance or a similar role
• Demonstrated experience in general building maintenance repairs or engineering environments
• A relevant trade qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive can-do attitude
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities
• Experience using hand tools and maintenance equipment safely
• Good communication skills and the ability to work across departments
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and on-call requirements where needed
