About the Role
As the Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for ensuring planned and corrective maintenance and repairs for our Fairways Residential Aged Care Home in Bundaberg. Your ability to foster strong relationship with residents contractors and suppliers will be a key part of making sure every day is the best it can be.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform general maintenance tasks including painting plaster repairs window and door repairs and minor carpentry plumbing and electrical tasks
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance across buildings equipment and facilities to minimise faults ensure compliance with aged care standards and support a safe and comfortable environment for residents
- Maintains cleanliness functionality and orderly presentation of gardens and common areas
- Provides timely and professional communication and assistance to residents regarding maintenance issues repairs installations and other requests
- Comply with health and safety requirements and protocols while performing maintenance activities ensuring safe working environment
About you
- Experience in a similar maintenance role preferably in an aged care environment
- Relevant trade qualification or Certificate IV (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach and ability to work independently
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain) & NDIS Clearance (if required)
- Evidence of Australian working rights
- Valid Australian drivers licence
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
