THE OPPORTUNITY

Location: Kyneton

Kilcoy Global Foods Kyneton currently has a permanent opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join our team in a fast-paced 24/7 Beef & Lamb production environment. Work environments will vary from agricultural production refrigeration coal fired boiler and rendering.

YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities with a strong focus on a preventative approach.
  • Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems procedures and maintenance.
  • Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
  • Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
  • Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant rules regulations and legislative requirements in the workplace including quality controls.

ABOUT YOU

  • Trade qualifications Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
  • Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostics for fault finding.
  • Reliable motivated self-starter.
  • Can-do attitude focusing on solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills and communication skills.
  • Experience with beef slaughter equipment highly regarded.
  • Associated downstream offal and rendering plant and equipment experience highly regarded.
  • Downstream processing experience including boning chilling packaging labelling and transfer systems highly regarded.
  • Unlimited working rights within Australia.
  • Drivers licence and reliable vehicle or reliable means of getting to work.
  • Vaccinated (or willing to be) against Q Fever.
