Maintenance Fitter

Our client who is a leader in the wool & storage industries is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for their facility in Melbournes western suburbs. The aim of this position is to provide maintenance services which optimise the use of all plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all plant and equipment
• Undertake all preventative maintenance as scheduled
• Undertake ad hoc maintenance as issues are identified taking into consideration the relative urgency of the request
• Coordinate the maintenance and repair of MHVs and all production machinery
• Make necessary adjustments and/or build equipment to ensure that the highest safety standards are maintained
• Undertake maintenance duties at other sites as required
• Ensure that the maintenance workshop and surrounds are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and safety
• Ensure that all required tools are available and request the purchase of additional/replacement tools as required
• Maintain responsibility for all maintenance tools
• Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure that major maintenance works can be completed with minimal disruption to regular operations
• Ensure safe storage of chemicals and that SDSs are available for all chemicals
• Any other duties as directed by the Site Manager from time-to-time

• Comply with all AWH WHS policies procedures and either written or verbal instructions.
• Take reasonable care to protect your own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
• Report any workplace hazards you may become aware of.
• Report all workplace incidents and / or injuries to your immediate Supervisors as soon as reasonably possible.
• Use all Personal Protective Equipment that is provided
• Undertake the necessary training prior to operating Plant or driving an AWH vehicle.
• To not operate any equipment requiring a license without holding such a license or be under supervised training.
• Participate in all nominated training programs
• Do not undertake work unless supervised for which you are not yet deemed competent
• Participate as required in health monitoring activities

• Assist with conducting risk assessments and with the development and review of maintenance SOPs

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Trade qualifications fabrication fitting welding maintenance
• Computer literacy
• Good communication skills
• Chemical handling
