About the role

We are looking for an experienced and reliableMaintenance Fitterto join our team at our Newcastle recycling facility for a12-month contract with a view of permanency.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with heavy machinery solving mechanical problems and working as part of a practical and supportive team.

You will work closely with the Site Manager and operations team to identify issues complete repairs and minimise equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair site machinery and equipment.
• Repair and maintain conveyors crushers and screens.
• Carry out breakdown and emergency repairs when needed.
• Complete welding fabrication and general repairs.
• Assist with general site maintenance.
• Complete safety checks and required paperwork.
• Report hazards faults and incidents.
• Follow all site safety procedures and wear the correct PPE.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualifiedMaintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter.
• Experienced in mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Confident working with conveyors crushers screens and processing equipment.
• Experienced with welding and fabrication.
• Safety-focused and committed to following procedures.
• Able to troubleshoot problems and work independently.

Benedict promotes a safe work culture. The successful applicant will be required to participate in reference checking and a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screen.
