Maintenance Electrician

The primary purpose of the Electrician is to provide electrical maintenance and production support across manufacturing operations focusing on troubleshooting preventative maintenance equipment installation and continuous improvement. The role works closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure safe reliable and efficient plant performance while minimizing downtime.

This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations 5 days a week with additional support for weekend production as required

Shift Pattern:

• Dayshift: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
• Occasional shift coverage with applicable shift allowances.

Your key responsibilities will be to:                                                                                                                     

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Maintain electrical controls of pneumatic and hydraulic systems conveying and optical sorting systems and Site services including compressors chillers boilers.
• Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals.
• Coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure effective support for safety quality and operational improvements
• Install new electrical systems and equipment as required ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with OEM manufacturers to install and commission equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on a range of specialized equipment including PLC logic SCADA and IO troubleshooting.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained
• Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards and Safety Control Logic.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work including parts used and time spent.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role youll have:

• 5-10 years in a similar position
• Prior experience in latest technology and automation within a manufacturing environment
• General electrical troubleshooting maintenance & repairs on manufacturing production lines
• Proven ability to problem solve for emergency maintenance and repair Solid understanding of PLC logic SCADA Siemens Safety control logic and Australian Safety Standards.
• Relevant trade qualification as an A Class Electrician.
• Certification in electrical safety and compliance with Australian standards.
• Additional certifications in PLC programming and SCADA systems are advantageous
• Experience working with CMMS software to manage maintenance activities and work orders.
