About the Role

This is a hands-on community-based role whereyoullspend your time with people not behind a desk.

Youlldeliver welcoming and engaging Social Groups that create friendships celebrate culturaldiversityand help older people stay activeconnectedand involved in their communities. Working closely with the Aged Care Manageryoullalso contribute ideas to continually improve our programs ensuring every experience is meaningfulinclusiveand centred on what matters most to participants.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Create meaningful Social Groups that help older people stay connectedactiveand engaged.
  • Foster welcoming environments where people from diverse cultures and backgrounds feel respectedincludedand that they belong.
  • Deliver engaging activities outings and community experiences that reflect participants interestsculturesand goals.
  • Build relationships that encourage friendships confidence participation and thriving Social Groups.
  • Contribute ideas and participant feedback to continually improve participant experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with Support Workersvolunteersand the broader Aged Care team to deliver exceptional Social Groups.
  • Deliver safe high-quality programs whilemaintainingaccurateattendance and participant records.

About You

Youresomeone who genuinely enjoys bringing people together.

You have a positive outlook plenty ofenergyand a natural ability to make people feel adaptable andconfidentfacilitating groups and you love creating experiences that people remember.

You value diversity and understand that every persons culture languagetraditionsand life experiences are unique. Whetheryourebilingualmultilingualor simply passionate about celebratingdifferent culturesand creating environments where everyone feels they belongyoullfeel at home at FOCUS Connect.

Above all yourepassionate about helping older people stay connectedbuildfriendshipsandfocuson what matters most to them.

To be successfulyoullbring:

  • Experience delivering lifestyle recreation community wellbeing or social programs within aged care community servicesdisabilityor a similar environment.
  • Excellent communication relationship-buildingand organisational skills.
  • Creativityinitiativeand a collaborative approach.
  • Qualifications in or studying towards Leisure & Health Community ServicesRecreationor a related discipline (desirable).
  • Current Driver Licence (essential).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • National Criminal History Check.
