Legal Director – (University) Conduct & Regulatory

About the role:

Lead the Conduct and Regulatory legal team and provide practical commercially sound advice across complex legal and regulatory issues.

You will work across:

• People and conduct related matters involving staff and students.
• Regulatory and compliance advice within a highly regulated environment.
• Dispute resolution including litigation mediation arbitration and tribunal matters.
• Requests for information including privacy subpoenas and GIPA-related matters.
• Commercial contracts supporting education collaboration and offshore initiatives.
• Legal operations triage reporting and practice management improvements.

The ideal candidate:

• Have at least 15 years post-admission experience.
• Strong in-house regulatory employment disputes or higher education legal experience.
• Confident advising senior stakeholders in a complex organisation.
• Strong judgement drafting communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to balance legal risk with practical commercial outcomes.
