About the role

As Legal Counsel for the Pacific Area reporting to the General Counsel and Compliance Officer for the Pacific Area you will provide critical legal support across a diverse range of matters ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for Bureau Veritas. This role is a 12 Month contract and offers exposure to contract negotiation corporate governance compliance and strategic advisory work within a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and negotiate client contracts to align with Bureau Veritas principles and good contracting standards.
• Support corporate governance activities including maintaining registers and supporting Boards and Company Secretaries.
• Provide legal support across insurance property intellectual property disputes and compliance reporting.
• Draft and amend local policies and contribute to group compliance projects.

What youll bring:

• Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner with an unrestricted practicing certificate
• Bachelor of Laws degree with a minimum three years post-admission experience.
• Existing valid work rights in Australia
• Strong contract review and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Excellent critical thinking problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships.
