About the opportunity

The Learning & Teaching Coordinator works closely with the Associate Heads of Learning and Teaching and operates under the broad direction of the Business Manager to coordinate support and provide expert advice on the planning and delivery of learning and teaching programs across the academic units. The role leads a wide range of operational activities that support curriculum governance quality assurance accreditation continuous improvement and alignment with Health and University priorities.

Drawing on a strong understanding of learning and teaching systems policies and processes the Learning & Teaching Coordinator provides high-level analysis advice and practical solutions to enhance the quality consistency and efficiency of learning and teaching operations.

The role develops and maintains effective working relationships across the academic units and the Academic Division facilitating collaboration resolving issues and managing competing priorities to ensure the successful delivery of learning and teaching programs and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements University policies and procedures.

The position may be based in Hobart or Launceston and supports learning and teaching activities across all campuses.

What youll do:

  • Provide high-level advice and guidance to the Associate Heads of Learning and Teaching in relation to University compliance policies quality assurance and process improvement.
  • Coordinate and oversee learning and teaching cycle activities including major course reviews course and unit monitoring cycles attrition reporting internal review processes and external accreditation activities.
  • Review coordinate and undertake administrative processes relating to academic quality assurance in learning and teaching to support compliance with University requirements.
  • Provide executive and committee support to the Associate Heads of Learning and Teaching including coordination of relevant L&T committees curriculum governance matters and associated records and reports.
  • Use student curriculum results reporting and records management systems to analyse course and unit data and prepare correspondence reports briefings and communications.
  • Provide guidance mentoring and support to other learning and teaching professional staff including sharing expertise and promoting consistent practice.

What were looking for:

  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification with subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education training and professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in tertiary education quality assurance including course and unit review processes and working with higher education provider rules ordinances policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support activities that enhance the quality of learning and teaching in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively across academic and professional teams.
  • Extensive administrative experience in a University environment or equivalent experience in a complex organisation with comparable governance and operational structures.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently within established guidelines exercising discretion confidentiality and sound judgment.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130943 comprising base salary within the range of $101821 to $111917 plus 17% superannuation.
