Job Summary
Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort is seeking a hands-on and motivated Leading Hand to join our Facilities team. Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager this role is ideal for an experienced maintenance or grounds professional looking to take the next step into a leadership position.
As Leading Hand you will play a key role in supporting the Facilities Manager by coordinating daily operations supervising the grounds team and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the grounds and maintenance team in the delivery of daily operational tasks
- Coordinate labour resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and in line with operational priorities
- Assist in maintaining landscaping gardens roads pathways and common areas across the resort
- Support the maintenance of utilities infrastructure including water gas electricity and digital services
- Assist with rubbish and recycling operations across the property
- Monitor the condition of facilities and proactively identify maintenance requirements
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to plan workloads resources and project priorities
- Liaise with contractors to ensure works are completed safely efficiently and within agreed timeframes
- Collaborate with the Financial Administrator regarding contractor scheduling and performance
- Provide regular updates to the Facilities Manager on project progress equipment requirements and material needs
- Act as the Facilities Managers delegate during periods of leave or absence
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance landscaping facilities property maintenance or a similar field
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate resources effectively
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues
- Experience working with contractors and external service providers
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Current drivers licence
- Trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience highly regarded
