Were looking for a Lead Creative who can bring this work to life through thoughtful and impactful visual this role your creativity has purpose. The work you produce will support how we communicate important issues facing Local Government engage stakeholders and deliver advocacy outcomes that make a difference to communities across WA.

About the role

This is a hands-on creative role with exposure to a wide variety of work across the organisation. Youll contribute to high-profile initiatives and sector events such as the WALGA Local Government Convention and Aboriginal Engagement Forum where your work will be showcased to members and stakeholders across the State.

Working as part of a collaborative marketing communications and events team youll lead the development of contemporary on-brand design across campaigns events and communications. From campaign concepts and publications through to event branding digital content and promotional materials youll translate complex ideas into clear engaging and visually compelling outcomes. Whilst theres a big dose of this fun work theres naturally a significant amount of typesetting and minor asset generation too.

Youll also play an important role in maintaining and evolving WALGAs brand ensuring consistency and quality across all outputs while working closely with the Content Producer and Digital Marketing Advisor to deliver cohesive and impactful campaigns.

Your day to day

No two days are the same but in a typical week you might find yourself:

  • Working on campaign visuals for an upcoming advocacy initiative or designing assets for social web and eDMs.
  • Collaborating with the events team to develop branded materials signage and digital content for a major sector event.
  • Meeting with internal stakeholders to workshop ideas and translate project briefs into creativeconcepts that align with WALGAs brand and objectives.
  • Refining layouts and design details across publications presentations and marketing collateral to ensure everything produced is polished accessible and visually engaging.
  • You may also provide occasional on-site support at key events assisting with the rollout of visual assets and troubleshooting content where needed.

About you

Youre a designer who enjoys both the craft and the collaborative nature of great design.

Youre naturally curious and take the time to understand the why behind the work using that insight to shape design outcomes that are not only visually appealing but meaningful and effective. You bring demonstrated experience in graphic design preferably within a corporate environment along with strong capability across Adobe Creative Suite and a solid understanding of typography layout and visual hierarchy.

Youre comfortable working across multiple projects at once balancing creativity with deadlines and attention to detail.

Most importantly you enjoy working with others. Youre confident engaging with stakeholders and motivated by being part of a team that brings ideas to life and delivers work that truly connects.
