Whats the role

We are looking for a mid-level lawyer to join our Consumer legal team supporting a broad portfolio across mortgages everyday banking creditcardsand personal loans. This is a hands-on role working closely with business stakeholders and operational teams on a wide range of customer-facing legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providelegal advice on day-to-day consumer banking matters across multiple product lines
  • Support the business in managing customer-related legal issues including:
    • powers of attorney and third-party authorities
    • deceased estates
    • account access and disputes (including joint account/customer disputes)
    • settlements and discharge processes
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policiesproceduresand guidance materials
  • Identifylegal risks and support the implementation ofappropriate controls

What do I need

  • Admitted to practice as a solicitor in NSW
  • Minimum 4 years PQE in private practice or supporting a financial services business
  • Strong familiarity with consumer banking products and regulatory frameworks
  • Commercially minded with the ability to deliver clear actionable legal advice
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach
