Whatsthejob

The primary role of theLaboratory Assistantis to support the Laboratory Coordinator and the Laboratory team to ensure that they can perform their duties effectively. The Laboratory Assistant works under the line management of the National Laboratory Manager and day-to-day supervision of a Laboratory Coordinator.

The Laboratory Assistant helps to improve the efficiency of the organization by enhancing the productivity of the Laboratory Coordinator and of the specialist teaching laboratories.

Day-to-day accountabilities:

Working closely with the Laboratory Coordinator National Laboratory Manager Laboratory Technician and Academic staff you will:

• ensure stocks of teaching materials are maintained

• class set up for simulations and assessments

• printing of learning materials as

• cleaning refillingrelabellingand restocking of equipment / consumables

• recycling of suitable equipment

• ensuring laboratory spaces are clean and tidy

• other duties asdeterminedon acase-by-casebasis

This is a casual position based at our Surry Hills campus in Sydney requiringapproximately 1216 hours across 23 shifts per week. We are seeking a flexible team member with availability to work afternoon shifts from 2:00 pm onwards as these hours form a core part of the roster.Additionalshifts may also be available based on operational requirements.

As this role involves manual handling tasks the recruitment process will include a functional capability assessment for the preferred candidate.
