What youll build with us:

As our Kitchen Hand/ Barista you will keep the café and kitchen running deliver and pack down breakfast and keep the office tidy day to day.

Its support staff work that quietly holds the workplace together - the kind of role our fast-paced growth depends on as the office and experience space keep expanding!

This is a 6 Month - Fixed term contract role 8am - 4pm Monday - Fridaybased out of our vibrant CBD office.

The impact youll make:

• Oversee the cleanliness and organisation of kitchen spaces on each floor including stacking and unstacking dishwashers replenishing supplies and office stationery stocktaking ordering and giving feedback to the cleaning team to keep standards of hygiene and functionality high
• Keep work areas clean and organised with close attention to detail and liaise with the Café Manager and Workplace Experience Specialist on any cleaning feedback or requirements
• Manage the daily breakfast delivery across multiple floors presenting food neatly refreshing it as needed and packing it away promptly once service ends in line with café presentation standards
• Make a range of coffees juices and smoothies - espresso cappuccino latte mocha iced coffee - following the recipes and standards set by the café
• Run the espresso machine proficiently brewing to the correct specifications by adjusting grind settings tamping and monitoring extraction times
• Froth and steam milk for lattes and other milk-based drinks getting the texture and temperature right every time
• Stay across the cafés offerings including coffee varieties and staff allergies and preferences
• Greet customers take orders answer questions and recommend drinks based on what theyre after
• Engage with customers and build a warm welcoming atmosphere in the café
• Taste and adjust drinks as needed so every beverage meets café standards
• Juggle multiple orders at once preparing drinks efficiently while keeping quality high and wait times low
• Keep the work area espresso machine grinder and other equipment clean sanitising all surfaces and utensils regularly
• Track coffee beans milk and other supplies restocking as needed and flagging to management when stock runs low
• Take part in training to sharpen barista skills and keep up with new coffee trends and techniques
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards including proper handwashing food storage and temperature control

Your track record:

• Experience with stock maintenance reporting and ordering
• Minimum 1 years experience in specialty coffee
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Great time management
• Ability to stay composed under pressure
• Excellent customer service
• Ability to work as part of a team
• A strong work ethic with a customer focus and positive attitude

Bonus points if you also have:

• Experience liaising with café supplies providers
• Basic computer skills using Google Suite
