- Located in Adelaide with regular travel to alternative RASA sites
The Justice System Navigator (JSN) will provide trauma responsive casework support to victim survivors of sexual violence to help them navigate the South Australian criminal justice system in collaboration with the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a compassionate and trauma-informed professional who is passionate about supporting victim survivors of sexual violence and helping them navigate complex systems with safety dignity and respect. You will have strong casework skills the ability to build effective partnerships with community and justice services and a commitment to providing culturally responsive client-centred support.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in social work counselling or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in providing case work and/or therapeutic support to those affected by violence abuse and trauma.
- Demonstrated understanding of practical and therapeutic needs of people who are victims of sexual violence and child sexual abuse.
- Demonstrated understanding of the South Australian Criminal Justice System.
- Demonstrated experience in trauma informed and responsive practices collaborating with vulnerable people.
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Postgraduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work psychology counselling or related discipline.
- Experience in working holistically with children and young people who have experienced trauma and family centred work.
- Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
- Experience collaborating with the Criminal Justice System.
What you will be doing
- Provide trauma-responsive victim survivor centric short to medium-term comprehensive support and referrals that respond to the specific needs of clients.
- Collaborate with appropriate support services such as SAPOL VOCSA DPP housing health mental health financial and aged care to meet the critical needs of clients.
- Ensure client safety effective case planning and review and appropriate referrals through universal holistic screening and risk assessment of complex relationship and social issues using the Detection of Overall Risk Screen (DOORS) tool WSAS and Kessler 10 assessment.
- Ensure sound case work interventions using evidence-based methodologies trauma informed approaches and proactively engaging in supervision to clearly articulate the relationship between theory and practice.
- Conduct risk and safety assessments case reviews and case conferences.
