Digital Solutions is Griffith Universitys strategic digital partner delivering innovative digital experiences for students staff researchers partners and the wider community. Through the modernisation of technologies platforms services and ways of working the portfolio is helping drive institutional performance and enable the Universitys digital future.
The Director Learning and Teaching provides strategic leadership and accountability for the Learning and Teaching digital portfolio overseeing strategy service quality performance delivery capability and stakeholder partnerships. The role serves as the key senior interface between Digital Solutions and academic and professional stakeholders ensuring priorities risks decisions and delivery commitments are aligned and effectively managed.
As a senior leader within Digital Solutions the Director is responsible for driving high performance strengthening leadership capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement clear accountability evidence-based decision-making and a focus on delivering value service excellence and operational resilience across the University.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Learning and Teaching digital portfolio with accountability for strategy service performance delivery outcomes stakeholder engagement risks and priorities.
- Develop and implement a forward-looking roadmap that supports the Universitys learning teaching and student experience objectives through technology modernisation service enhancement and continuous improvement.
- Build lead and develop a high-performing team by fostering capability accountability collaboration and a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Drive effective planning prioritisation and delivery practices to ensure high-quality services operational stability and successful outcomes.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with senior academic and professional stakeholders ensuring needs expectations and priorities are understood and effectively managed.
- Provide transparent reporting governance and evidence-based recommendations to support informed decision-making and effective risk management.
- Manage demand and portfolio priorities balancing strategic objectives operational requirements available resources and delivery capacity.
- Oversee budgets resources vendors and contracts to ensure financial accountability service quality and value for money.
- Champion innovation collaboration and the effective use of technology and data to enhance learning teaching and student outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation policies and standards while promoting ethical conduct inclusion safety and the Universitys values.
About you
- Postgraduate qualifications and substantial leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education training and senior experience in a complex digital technology or service delivery environment.
- Significant leadership experience in digital or technology functions supporting learning and teaching student experience academic operations or similar enterprise services.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams build capability drive accountability and foster a strong service and delivery culture.
- Demonstrated success partnering with senior stakeholders managing demand and priorities and translating business needs into strategic digital initiatives and outcomes.
- Strong financial commercial vendor and risk management skills with experience managing budgets supplier relationships service performance and governance requirements.
What we can offer
This is a full-time fixed-term position for 12 months. However for exceptional candidates there may be an opportunity to extend the appointment beyond the initial term. This position is primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith Universitys sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary
A competitive salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate.
