About The Role:
Were looking for a skilled and motivated Irrigation Technician to join our Trees and Irrigation team within City Operations.
In this hands-on role youll take the lead in operating maintaining and improving Councils irrigation systems across parks reserves and sporting facilities. Your work will have a direct impact on the quality sustainability and presentation of the green spaces our community enjoys every day.
Youll work closely with field crews contractors and leaders to deliver efficient wellplanned irrigation services. Along the way youll contribute to planning and budgeting maintain accurate records and help foster a safe collaborative and customer-focused work environment.
About You:
Youre practical reliable enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining highquality public spaces. You bring strong technical capability a safetyfirst mindset and a collaborative approach with the confidence to work independently when required.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Proven experience in irrigation installation maintenance and repairs
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and controllers with the ability to quickly identify and fix faults
- Clear communication skills and a positive approach when working with teams contractors and the community
- Accurate recordkeeping skills and confidence using digital systems and mobile technology
- Flexibility teamwork and a commitment to safety and Council values
- A qualification in Irrigation Horticulture or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Current Class C drivers licence and White Card
- Restricted Plumbing Licence (irrigation) Work Zone Traffic Management certification and MR licence (desirable).

About Our Team:
City Maintenance are equipped to care for open spaces in our beaches reserves and parks ensuring they are maintained and up to standard. This diverse portfolio is passionate and skilled in areas including property management and repair irrigation biodiversity arboriculture trees and sports turf as well as program scheduling and contract support.
The Trees and Irrigation team is responsible for the development enhancement and maintenance of trees and streetscapes recreational reserves and sporting grounds. The team manage programmed and reactive work that involves detailed street tree pruning and care and quality irrigation systems for attractive landscapes.
The Detail:
The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis and is classified at Grade ME6 with a starting salary of $76963.37 per annum Super. The role includes provision of a commuter-use vehicle for travel to and from work. The benefits of joining the City of Charles Sturt also include:
