About Powerhouse

Powerhouse Museum is located at the intersection of arts design science and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues. It is the custodian of more than half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia. We are undertaking a landmark $1.3 billion infrastructure renewal program led by the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta; expanded research and public facilities at Powerhouse Castle Hill; the heritage revitalisation of the iconic Powerhouse Ultimo; and the ongoing operation of Sydney Observatory.

Powerhouse Food Internship

About the Role

Are you interested in food culturecommunityand the arts As a Powerhouse Food Intern you will support the Powerhouse Food team in the planning administration and coordination of programs that celebrate Western Sydneys diverse food culturesproducersand communities.

Working alongside Powerhouse staff you will contribute to the behind-the-scenes work that supports public programs and partnerships. This may include preparing presentations and briefing materials conducting research coordinating project documentationmaintainingrecords supportingcommunicationsandassistingwith program administration.

This internship is particularly suited to students with a strong understanding of Western Sydneys food landscape and communities. Experience working in family-run food businesses restaurantsmarketsor related environments will be highly regarded as will an interest in museums visualartsand cultural programming.


Learning Opportunities
