Injury Prevention and Wellbeing Adviser

• Help shape a safe and healthy workplace through proactive injury prevention wellbeing and psychosocial risk initiatives.
• Apply your allied health expertise to improve employee wellbeing injury recovery and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
• Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
• Base salary range: $108413 $120287 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Health Safety and Wellbeing Directorate supports the health and safety of staff students and other people across the Universitys campuses and properties. The team leads UWAs approach to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment embedding health and safety risk considerations into operational planning and activities across the University.

About the opportunity

• Develop deliver and evaluate employee health and wellbeing initiatives that address physical and psychological health priorities including psychosocial hazards while promoting resources that support a safe and healthy workplace.
• Lead proactive injury prevention activities through ergonomic and manual task assessments musculoskeletal incident investigations risk assessments injury data analysis job task analysis health monitoring and targeted education and training.
• Coordinate workers compensation and non-compensable injury cases developing injury management and return-to-work plans in partnership with employees leaders treating practitioners and insurers to support safe and sustainable recovery at work.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health discipline such as Physiotherapy Exercise Physiology Occupational Therapy or Psychology or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing employee wellbeing programs within large or complex organisations.
• Relevant experience in workers compensation claims management injury management and return-to-work practices.
• Strong communication consultation and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to provide practical advice and negotiate effectively.
• Ability to work independently use initiative and collaborate effectively within a team supported by proficiency across standard workplace digital and information-management tools.
