Information Security Consultant Secure by Design (AI Enablement)
Job Summary
Whats the Role:
The role supports the evolution of Secure by Design (SbD) into a scalable technology-enabled security consultancy and assessment function. It will help build practical automation and AI-enabled capabilities that improve how SbD consultants collect information analyse design artefacts identify security risks recommend controls and maintain assessment evidence. It requires a good understanding of security consultancy secure design practices risk-based assessment and enterprise delivery environments. Advanced AI expertise is not mandatory; the successful candidate should be willing to learn experiment safely and apply AI techniques under appropriate governance to improve SbD outcomes.
The Secure by Design Business Security Team sits within the Information Security Group and supports all brands in the Westpac Group. The mission of the team is to collectively work with business and project stakeholders to embed security into their solutions and always deliver them safely
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with security consultants and architects to enhance Secure by Design (SbD) assessments through automation AI and workflow optimisation.
- Design and develop automation solutions integrations and data pipelines to streamline security assessment processes and reduce manual effort.
- Build tools that analyse design artefacts identify risk themes summarise documentation and provide actionable security insights.
- Leverage technologies such as Python APIs workflow automation and AI/LLM capabilities while ensuring transparency governance and human oversight.
- Collaborate with risk engineering project and platform teams to deliver scalable solutions that support governance compliance auditability and operational reporting.
What do I need
- Experience in Secure by Design (SbD) security consulting security architecture technology risk or cyber security assessments.
- Strong ability to identify security risks review solution designs and align findings with security controls and governance requirements.
- Knowledge of cyber security principles threat modelling risk assessment and control assurance within complex enterprise environments.
- Exposure to automation Python APIs AI/LLMs workflow automation or enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow and Archer.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement analytical thinking and communication skills with the ability to work across technical risk and business teams.
