Your future role:

Alstom is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a permanent position to support the Ballarat VIC site operations. Reporting to the HR Business Partnering Lead for the Rolling Stock & Components Product Line you will support key stakeholders leaders and people managers delivering proactive hands-on HR support tailored to their day-to-day needs. A key focus of the role is giving leaders and managers practical on-the-ground support to navigate people management corporate governance and respectful workplace practices while helping to maintain a positive and engaged workplace culture.

As an HR Professional youll:

• Come with the natural ability to connect well with stakeholders and build trusting relationships
• Perform day-to-day generalist HR activities
• Support and coach managers in performance improvement and performance management discussions
• Provide ongoing governance training to managers supervisors and team leaders on employment law and Respect at Work to build confidence in this area
• Work with key management personnel to improve the cascade of site communication
• Support the resolution of IR/ER issues and be comfortable working with unions
• Provide support in interpreting legislation contracts awards and policies
• Support site change management and HR projects with an IR/ER focus in mind
• Deliver the Performance Management Cycle including reviews salary adjustments objective setting and succession planning
• Assist with Ballarat-related Compensation & Benefits activities
• Provide reporting and data expertise for your area of responsibility to support business justification and positioning

All about you:

• Hold a tertiary degree in a related field
• Possess significant experience in employment/labour law gained within an operational environment
• Demonstrate negotiation and influencing skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and customers
• Have experience and feel comfortable working in a complex industrial environment
• Possess knowledge of industrial relations principles and practices and their impact on business performance
• Demonstrate generalist HR experience covering all areas of HR management practice within a matrix organisational structure
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that can be ambiguous at times
• Ability to articulate views and advice clearly to a broad range of individuals
