Salary - $116981.00 - $129492.00 pa plus superannuation and leave loading
This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only
Your role
The role within the Aboriginal Employment Strategy team will support the implementation of the Aboriginal Employment Strategy across DCJ and Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW). The successful candidate will play a lead role in the delivery of key projects and programs working collaboratively across divisions to drive strategic initiatives and achieve organisational outcomes.
What youll do
As an HR Advisor Aboriginal Employment you will play a key role in driving the successful implementation of the Departments Aboriginal Employment Strategy and associated workforce initiatives across DCJ and Corrective Services NSW.
In this role you will lead the delivery of strategic projects and programs ensuring key deliverables are achieved on time and aligned with organisational priorities. You will identify opportunities for continuous improvement implement innovative solutions and contribute to the ongoing development of Aboriginal employment initiatives that support a culturally capable inclusive and diverse workforce.
Working collaboratively within a high-performing team you will build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to communicate effectively influence outcomes and negotiate with confidence will be essential in fostering partnerships and supporting successful project delivery.
You will also be responsible for monitoring project outcomes contributing to effective governance and reporting and ensuring activities are delivered within agreed budgets and timeframes.
This role requires a proactive organised and adaptable professional with excellent communication stakeholder engagement and project management skills. As the role supports initiatives across New South Wales state-wide travel is a requirement and flexibility to travel as needed is essential.
In this role you will work in the Employee Experience and Learning Aboriginal Employment Strategy team in a culturally inclusive passionate and motivated team that strive to ensure the work we do has a positive impact of the future DCJ workforce with a key focus on strengthening the Aboriginal workforce.
What were looking for
In addition to the essential requirements outlined in the role description this role requires a candidate to have strong knowledge of Skills NSW Training Services including traineeships school-based traineeships training arrangements supervision and key stakeholders involved. The ability to travel across NSW.
This is an Aboriginal Identified role because its primary purpose is to deliver services that benefit DCJs Aboriginal workforce and contribute to improved Aboriginal workforce development outcomes across the Department.
We are seeking an Aboriginal person who brings strong cultural knowledge credibility and connections together with the ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal employees communities and stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate cultural capability by applying Aboriginal perspectives to their work fostering culturally safe practices and supporting initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal employment representation and career development across DCJ.
Given the nature of the role it is essential that you demonstrate a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures communities histories organisations and ways of working informed by your lived experience and cultural knowledge. You will apply this capability to build respectful relationships work in culturally responsive ways and contribute to initiatives that foster culturally safe and inclusive workplaces for Aboriginal employees.
As an Identified role this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons Australias First Nations people.
