Summary:

The Housing Manager will oversee the management and administration of housing services in Kununurra Western Australia. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of housing solutions maintaining high standards of tenant satisfaction and fostering community engagement. The Housing Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance the living conditions and support the needs of residents in the area.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of housing services ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
• Ensure the timely accurate and efficient operation of ACHL rental collection andarrears recovery systems
• Develop and implement housing strategies that meet the needs of the community.
• Oversee tenant relations addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the National Operations Manager to manage budgets ensuring financial sustainability of housing programs.
• Liaise with Asset Management Unit within the Department of Housing and Works inrelation to tenanted and vacated property maintenance
• Collaborate with local authorities and community organisations to promote housing initiatives.
• Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Provide leadership and support to housing staff fostering a positive work environment.
• Provide appropriate support to wider team and organisation
• Contribute to continuous improvement by optimising approaches to strategic portfoliomanagement growth opportunities and capital project delivery while providingadditional support to the wider team and organisation as required.

About You

You are an experienced property housing professional with strong operational judgementhigh-level conceptual and problem-solving skills and the ability to turn strategic growth opportunities into quality project outcomes. You are a confident communicator who builds effective relationships with tenants as well as across government not-for-profit private sector internal teams andcommunity stakeholders. You are committed to ACHLs values culturally safe practice ethical leadership and the right of every person to good quality housing.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years experience in housing management or a similar role.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or a related discipline are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of housing legislation and community development principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in budget management and financial reporting.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to foster strategic partnerships across government not-for-profit andprivate sectors.
• Commitment to First Nations outcomes through culturally safe respectful and inclusivepractice.
• Commitment to ACHLs values ethical behaviour accountability stewardship resiliencecontinuous improvement and results-focused delivery.
• Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing.
• Satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check.
• Hold a current open car licence.
