This isnt your typical residential care role. Were looking for someone who can bring leadership organisation cultural connection and a whole lot of heart to the placements; while working closely with our House Manager to create a safe stable and supportive environment for young people in care.

About the Role

As our House Coordinator youll work alongside and under the support of the House Manager helping keep the day-to-day running of the placements on track while also taking a lead role in case coordination and support planning.

Youll be someone who can move between the practical and the people-focused parts of residential care; one minute supporting the team and checking the placement is running smoothly the next advocating for a young person and working alongside stakeholders.

Your day-to-day may include:

• Supporting the House Manager with the daily operation of the placement
• Coordinating and contributing to case management and case planning
• Supporting Youth Workers to maintain high standards of care and practice
• Building strong relationships with young people their families kin and community
• Working collaboratively with Child Safety schools health services cultural supports and other stakeholders
• Supporting routines appointments activities documentation and placement requirements
• Monitoring the presentation safety and standard of the home
• Supporting medication vehicle household and placement processes
• Assisting with staff guidance coaching and day-to-day expectations
• Supporting handovers reporting and accountability
• Identifying opportunities to improve outcomes for young people
• Oversee the daily operations of the residential house ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
• Manage budgets and resources efficiently to ensure the sustainability of the service.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Were looking for someone who is:

Passionate about supporting young people

Confident working in residential care

Organised and able to juggle competing priorities

Comfortable with case management and documentation

A strong communicator and relationship builder

Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders

Confident supporting and guiding Youth Workers

Culturally aware respectful and committed to culturally safe practice

Proactive you see what needs doing and get stuck in!

Someone who brings warmth accountability and a strengths-based approach

Must Have:

• A Diploma in Child Youth and Family Intervention or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Be based in Rockhampton or be genuinely willing to relocate to Rockhampton.
• Completion of Hope and Healing Framework Training or willing to obtain.
• Current Working With Children (Blue Card)
• A valid Drivers License (open)
• Experience managing and leading teams coaching staff and supporting daily operations.
• The ability to provide two recent referees of supervisors.
