Hours: Casual (Tuesday Wednesday and Friday)
About the RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic proactive and dedicated Home Care Worker to assist a gentleman living in Old Reynella. SA.
This is not a traditional do everything for the client role. Instead your goal will be to work with him to prioritise his social engagement choice and overall quality of life. You will be an enabler of independence helping him stay active in his community maintain his home routines and live life on his own terms.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial & Community Engagement: Supporting the client to access the local community attend social outings and maintain meaningful connections.
Promoting Independence: Encouraging and assisting the client to perform daily tasks himself (reablement approach) rather than doing it all for him.
Quality of Life Support: Assisting with life admin accompanying him on errands or discovering new local activities.
Domestic Assistance: Helping with light household tasks to ensure a comfortable safe and clean living environment.
Transport Services: Providing safe transport for community access social events or appointments.
This role requires consistent availability across three weekdays:
Tuesday Wednesday and Friday
You are a naturally positive patient and person-centred individual who believes that care should be empowering not restrictive. You know how to strike the perfect balance between offering a helping hand and stepping back to let a client lead.
Requirements & QualificationsCertificate III in Individual Support Ageing Support Disability or relevant community services experience.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or National Police Check.
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
Valid Australian Drivers Licence with a reliable clean and comprehensively insured vehicle (essential for community access).
Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults or individuals with disabilities.
