Job Summary

The Health Information Services (HIS) department is seeking a highly motivated and excellent clerk to join our Camberwell campus on a permanent full-time basis.

This position is Monday to Friday (38hours/week) during business hours from either 8am to 4:06pm or 8:30am to 4:36pm.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Scanning paper-based patient medical records using the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system.
  • Answering telephone enquiries.
  • Responding to information requests in accordance with the departments release of information guidelines.
  • Collecting scanning and re-directing mail.
  • Performing general department administration duties as required

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role

You will have:

  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively coordinate the various processes and steps involved in the process
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders both internal and external to Epworth
  • Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook Suite (primarily Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office)
  • A solid work ethic and an ability to work autonomously within a team in order to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Proven high attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released at all times
  • Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures

       Desirable (non-essential):

  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Previous experience with a Patient Administration System (iPM WebPAS TrakCare) and a Scanned Medical Record (BOSSnet or CPF)
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
