Job Summary
- Assess vehicle damage and determine repair requirements
- Plan and coordinate repair work
- Prepare damage reports repair records and photographs
- Construct and repair vehicle frameworks
- Straighten and align damaged frames and chassis
- Replace damaged panels and structural components
- Cut and weld replacement sections using MIG silicon bronze and spot welding
- Remove and repair damaged/deformed panels
- Work with sheet metal aluminium and reinforced plastics
- Repair dents rust chips and scrapes
- Prepare surfaces for painting
- Modify vehicles according to customer requirements
- Carry out fabrication on custom vintage and specialty vehicles
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and meet deadlines
- Work safely and collaboratively within the workshop
Mandatory:
AQF Certificate III 2 years on-the-job training OR AQF Certificate IV
Current Class C Drivers Licence minimum
MR/HR Licence preferred
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in vehicle body building fabrication or panel shop work
Hands-on experience in vehicle panel repair and body work
Experience in vehicle fabrication and structural/framework repair
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience with cutting shaping fitting and welding
Experience with MIG welding silicon bronze and spot welding
Experience working with steel aluminium and reinforced plastics
Ability to repair/replace damaged panels and structural components
Knowledge of automotive safety standards and regulations
Good written and verbal English communication
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred:
Commercial vehicle/heavy equipment experience
Coach body-building experience
Panel shop experience
Supervisory or apprenticeship training experience

Required Skills:
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience as an Automotive / Motor Mechanic Mandatory experience with luxury or premium brands such as BMW Mercedes-Benz Audi Lexus Jaguar Land Rover Porsche etc. Candidate must be eligible to apply for Australian Skill Assessment (TRA) Willingness to relocate and work in Australia Basic English communication skills (IELTS required at visa stage)
