Heavy Diesel Mechanic & BoilermakerWelder Rig Shutdown

About the role

CrewSELECT is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic and Boilermaker/Welder for an upcoming Oil & Gas rig shutdown commencing 15th July. This is a short-term high-paying opportunity for experienced tradespeople with shutdown and oil & gas experience.

Youll be working 12-hour days on a scheduled shutdown with mobilisation from Toowoomba.

Key Responsibilities

Heavy Diesel Mechanic

• Carry out shutdown maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical hydraulic and engine faults
• Complete servicing and preventative maintenance
• Work safely in accordance with shutdown procedures

Boilermaker/Welder

• Perform shutdown welding fabrication and repair work
• Complete structural and mechanical repairs
• Read and interpret drawings where required
• Maintain high safety and quality standards onsite

Qualifications & Experience

Heavy Diesel Mechanic

• Trade Certificate Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Cert III minimum)
• Current unrestricted manual drivers licence
• Current First Aid & CPR
• Previous Oil & Gas industry experience
• Experience with Caterpillar and Detroit engines
• Experience with PLC hydraulic systems and 4WD fleets (Nissan Toyota & Isuzu)

Highly regarded:

• Wellsite Permit to Work Rev 3
• 4x4 Operate Vehicles in the Field
• Industry Safety / Drilling & Completions General Induction (QLD)
• Confined Space
• Breathing Apparatus
• Gas Test Atmospheres

Boilermaker/Welder

• Trade Certificate Boilermaker/Welder
• Current Low Voltage Rescue
• Working at Heights
• Previous Oil & Gas industry experience preferred

Highly regarded:

• Permit to Work Holder Rev 3
• CPR / Fire Awareness / Fire Extinguisher Training
• Senior First Aid
• 4x4 Operate Vehicles in the Field
• Breathing Apparatus
• Confined Space
• Elevated Work Platform
• Gas Testing & Monitoring
• JSA Training

Whats on offer

• $1200 per day
