The CommunityAwareness andEngagementOfficerispart oftheArmidale headspaceserviceteam. Their purpose is to promotethe services of theheadspacecentre help young people togetearly accessto health and other services and promote positivemental health messagingwithin their local communities.

• Provide information to young people and theirfamilies presenting to headspace including at community events.
• Develop and maintain positive and effective workingrelationships with a broad range of people and organisations.
• Recruit train supervise and support young people to beinvolved in the headspace Youth Advisory Group and/or other groupstargeting young people.
• Work closely with the headspace team to ensure thatthe views of young people are integrated into service planning and servicedelivery.
• Build relationships with external service providers andcommunity partners to develop opportunities for mutually beneficialpartnerships that progress headspace toward its objectives in the localcommunity.

• Minimum relevant Certificate IV or demonstratedexperience in communications /stakeholder engagement

• Ability to work autonomously withhigh-level written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple andcompeting work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Experience and ability to use a range of mediums toconnect with audiences including social media groups and presentations
• Experience in the youth and/or mental healthsector.
• A broad understanding of the mental health servicesystem in Australia.
• A broad understanding of the primary care healthsystem in Australia.
• Ability to think creatively and develop innovativesolutions to problems.
• High attention to detail
• Positive and collaborative team player.
