Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.

About the role:

The teacher role is ongoing (1.0 FTE) and the Position of Responsibility is a four-year fixed-term position commencing on Monday 25 January 2027. This position will be based at our Donnybrook Campus with a leadership allowance at level 4. This role has a 0.2 time release.

AHead of Facultydrives the scope and sequence of the academic program andprovidesexpert advice to the teachers within theirlearning areato deliver a relevantstimulatingand effective teaching program. Equipped with extensive knowledge of their specific discipline and knowledge of contemporaryteachingandlearning practices theHead of Facultywill encourage a safestimulatingand challenging environment whilst promoting theSchoolsphilosophypoliciesandprocedures.

TheHead of Facultyis recognised and respected by colleaguesparentsand community members asamodel teacher. They havedemonstratedconsistent and innovative teaching practice andthe ability to successfullyinitiateand lead activities that focus on improving educational opportunities for all students. They continue to seek ways to improve their own practice and to share their experience with colleagues. They are skilled in mentoring teachers using activities that develop knowledgepracticeand professional engagement in others. They promote creative and innovative thinking among colleagues.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Bachelor of Education degree or higher
  • Far-reaching understanding of the curriculum within the learning area
  • Ability to develop implement deliver and evaluate teaching and learning programs within the learning area
  • Proven experience leading others in the implementation of teaching practices and capacity to provide expert advice to teachers within their learning area
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams
  • Outstanding organisational skills planning and analytical thinking capabilities
  • Personal sense of initiative enthusiasm and high energy
  • Sound financial management and budgeting skills
  • Current registration or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
