Graduate Data Engineers

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Data Engineers to join our growing Data & AI team in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about data analytics artificial intelligence and technology and are looking to build a career delivering modern data and AI solutions for leading Australian organisations.

You will work alongside experienced consultants architects engineers and data scientists helping organisations unlock value from their data through the design development and support of modern cloud-based data platforms analytics solutions and AI-enabled capabilities. Our team delivers enterprise-scale solutions across a range of industries leveraging technologies such as Databricks Snowflake Microsoft Fabric Azure Power BI and Generative AI.

As a Graduate Data Engineer you will work closely with experienced data professionals to support the development and maintenance of modern data platforms and data products. You will assist in building and optimising data pipelines using Python and SQL perform data extraction transformation and loading (ETL/ELT) activities and help ensure data quality reliability and governance across enterprise environments. You will contribute to the design and implementation of cloud-native data solutions on platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake support analytics and reporting initiatives troubleshoot data issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure data solutions.

A key part of this role will be exposure to AI-assisted delivery practices that are transforming how modern data platforms are built and operated. You will have the opportunity to work with AI-powered development tools and delivery accelerators to support solution design code generation testing documentation data modelling and analytics development. You will learn how organisations are combining data engineering machine learning and Generative AI capabilities to create intelligent applications data products and advanced analytics solutions.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with leading enterprise data and AI technologies while developing strong technical problem-solving consulting and stakeholder engagement skills. You will be supported through structured learning mentoring certification programs and exposure to real client engagements helping you build a successful career at the forefront of Data & AI.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering Data Science Mathematics Statistics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Python programming.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
• Knowledge of or exposure to Databricks and modern data engineering concepts.
• Understanding of data structures algorithms and software development best practices.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and develop a career in data engineering.

Desirable

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Knowledge of data modelling and database design principles.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Exposure to Apache Spark Snowflake Power BI or other modern data and analytics tools.
• Experience gained through internships university projects hackathons or personal technical projects.
• Basic understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of data governance data quality and information security principles.
