Job Summary
The position requires a highly experienced GIS professional with extensive expertise in enterprise geospatial capabilities typically supported by a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelors degree or higher) and more than 12 years of industry experience. The contractor must demonstrate strong capability in the integration sustainment and operation of enterprise GIS along with proven experience in delivering insights and models that inform organisational decision-making. A deep understanding of Defence or Intelligence domains GIS deployment patterns and stakeholder engagement at senior levels is essential as well as experience providing strategic advice and oversight on geospatial capability development.
In addition the role requires strong leadership communication and governance skills consistent with a Level 4 practitioner including the ability to influence organisational directions manage complex work across technical and business domains and guide capability evolution. Candidates should be adept at translating business requirements into Foundation Geospatial and GIS outcomes maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders and ensuring compliance with standards and policies. Relevant industry certifications and the ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance are also required with desirable attributes including recognition within the geospatial profession and experience contributing to broader industry practices.
Demonstrated extensive experience (typically 12 years) in enterprise GIS and geospatial data including integration sustainment and operation of geospatial capabilities.
Relevant tertiary qualification in geospatial science GIS or related discipline (Bachelors degree or higher).
Proven ability to provide strategic leadership governance and oversight of complex GIS environments and business functions.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills including influencing senior decision-makers across Defence or government organisations.
Experience delivering analytical insights models and advice to support organisational and capability decision-making.
Deep understanding of enterprise GIS architectures deployment patterns and geospatial data management practices.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into effective geospatial capability outcomes and improvements.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of Defence intelligence or government operating environments (highly desirable).

Key duties and responsibilities We are seeking a Senior Storage Engineer who has experience working in large complex ICT environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying configuring managing and tuning the departments storage systems at physical and virtual layers. The Senior Storage Engineer will also be responsible to deploy configure and manage Storage Area Network Switches as required. The successful candidate should have knowledge of new and emerging technologies to shape the future direction of the departments storage and data platforms. The role requires producing design documents build documents operations document handover and sharing of knowledge with other team members and mentoring junior team members. Essential criteria experience and knowledge in the design administration tuning and troubleshooting of one or more of the following storage systems: HPE 3PAR Primera Alletra Storage Systems NetApp E-Series Dell Data Domain Brocade Fabric Switches SANnav Scality Artesca to produce design build and operations documents for processes and procedures. communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work with skilled technical people including making presentations to staff and stakeholders and coaching staff. / Knowledge of following technology: Veeam Backup and Replication
